What is it?
These two Tutorials are made for those who are starting to study Japanese language, to help them to learn Hiragana and Katakana alphabets. This is an essential skill before anybody start learning Kanji.
How does it work?
One picture costs a thousand of words, so let start with the picture. Here is the initial screen of Katakana Tutorial:
Now, you are guessing what of the three is your right answer and clicking it. If it is indeed the correct one, the number of points associated with the symbol you were guessing is decreased by one. If you are wrong it is increased.
If some symbol looses all its points, it is marked by a column of green pluses and excluded from further exercise. Your goal is to eliminate all the symbols in that way. Achieving this goal without any help or use of reference material means you became somehow familiar with corresponding writing system.
Good luck!
